General Building Services in London

Dry Lining in London

We offer dry lining services for residential homes and commercial buildings such as healthcare properties, shops, hotels, and offices.

Dry lining and dot and dab

Dry lining includes the application of plasterboard on metal, wood, and other surfaces. Plasterboard is fitted to brick walls or a metal/timber stud. Dot and dab is a plastering method that involves fitting plasterboard to a wall with the help of plasterboard adhesive. We use this plastering method to achieve better heat and sound insulation. Tacking is another technique used for fitting plasterboard to metal and timber.

Dry lining services

Our customers can opt for a skimmed plaster finish or traditional float and set plastering. A skimmed plaster finish is used to cover plaster boarded walls and ceilings. We also install composite boards that have good insulation properties.

Types of materials

Customers can choose from different types of insulation materials, including polyurethane, fibreglass, and expanded polystyrene. Boral plasterboard, for example, is ideal for curved surfaces, ceilings, and walls. It is non-toxic, lightweight, and can be fitted to masonry, steel, and timber substrates. It creates a durable, stable, and smooth surface that is ready for wallpaper or paint. Plasterboard provides a high level of acoustic insulation and is used in specially designed ceiling and wall systems.

Plastering

At Top Build UK we offer plastering services to customers in London. Whether it is a complete renovation or a small repair project, plastering is our specialty.

Plastering services

We offer external and internal plaster repairs, re-skims, specialist finishes, and more. We specialize in all aspects of plaster work, including artex removal, coving, replacing ceilings, and plastering walls. Our team offers two coat plasterwork, skim coating, and external wall insulations. Whether you need general improvements, remedial plastering, or cornice work, we will be able to help. We use base coat plasters instead of noisy cement mixers as well as decorative and polished plasters. There is a large variety of specialist finishes for a lustrous or dramatic effect.

Plaster maintenance and repairs

Affected areas often show fractures and become drummy. Cracks appear above openings and below window surrounds and cornices. We will examine the affected areas to see whether pressure grouting with meshing or epoxy is required.

Re-skims

Re-plastering will be required after we remove the existing wallpaper. We will replace the window beads, repair damaged plaster, and re-skim the room. We won’t leave suction spots and will cover the wall completely. We will make sure there are no uncovered spaces.
